Seniors Strength Training Classes

Our Program

The official start time of the class is 8:30am. We start on the cardio equipment (treadmills, bike, rower, elliptical) for the first few minutes before going to the numbered circuit. If you like, you can come a little early to do a bit of extra "warm up" on these machines.

The instructor will then call everyone over to the circuit to start the resistance training portion of the workout. You can start on any number then we proceed through he numbers in the ascending order. You have 2 1/2 minutes at each station, which give you enough time to do 1 set of 12 repetitions, rest for minute then do a 2nd set. The instructor is timing you and will tell you when it's time to move on. Try to avoid starting on #7 or #16 as the next stations are back to cardio. Ideally you will start on #1 or #10. You will go to the cardio stations at #8 &9, #17 & 18. These are 5 minute stations so you will stay there for 2 "switches". Choose any of the machines but try to vary them each time.

When we have gone through all 18 stations, we gather, to do a "cool down" stretching routine. We have many ways to stretch and will likely try different methods to find what suits our needs the best.

After this 1hr 15 min. session you may do more cardio, go to the pool or leave the facility as we are done!
